Unusual Electrocardiogram in Dextrocardia.

چکیده
The case here described was found in the course of a mass radiographic survey. Case History.-The patient was a well-grown man aged 35 years. He was free from symptoms. He had no significant past medical history. He had always lived a normal life and had been moderately athletic in his school days. On clinical examination it was found that cardiac pulsation was palpable in the right fourth intercostal space just internal to the mid-clavicular line. Normal heart sounds were heard in this area and between it and the sternum. At the left border of the sternum sounds were faint and further to the left were inaudible. No bruits were heard. There was no dyspncea, cyanosis, clubbing of the fingers, or other indication of cardiac disorder. Blood pressure was 120/70. Radiography showed a heart in the position of complete dextrocardia, but otherwise of normal contour. The lung fields were clear. The left dome of the diaphragm was raised. The liver and stomach were not transposed. Electrocardiographic Findings.-A cardiogram consisting of the three standard limb leads and three chest leads is shown in Fig. 1.

The role of electrocardiogram in the diagnosis of dextrocardia with mirror image atrial arrangement and ventricular position in a young adult Nigerian in Ile-Ife: a case report
INTRODUCTION Dextrocardia with situs inversus is a rare congenital disease. In patients with this condition, the heart is presented as a mirror image of itself with its apex pointing to the right. The pulmonary and abdominal anatomies are reversed. Dextrocardia with situs inversus occurs at birth but its diagnosis may be in adulthood. This case advances knowledge by graphically describing the u...
متن کاملElectrocardiogram read by the computer as arm-lead reversal.
T he electrocardiogram shown in Figure 1 was read by the computer as arm-lead reversal. Th e computer reading went on to say that no further analysis would be attempted. Th is clearly is a programming mistake because the precordial leads make the diagnosis. Although we would estimate that 95% of electrocardiograms with negative P, QRS, and T waves in lead I are due to armlead reversal, a small ...

(also referred to as ' dextrocardia with situs inversus of the viscera ' or as ' complete heterotaxy'). This form of dextrocardia has been known to clinicians ever since 1643, when Severinus reported its occurrence for the first time. In 1930, Macera and Bordato were able to collect as many as 250 cases of this variety of dextrocardia from the literature. The 'tetralogy of. Fallot' (or 'pulmona...

A 53-year-old male patient with a previous diagnosis of situs inversus with mirror-image dextrocardia underwent thallium-201 (Tl-201) stress-redistribution myocardial perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Electrocardiogram (ECG) obtained on right hemithorax revealed constant complete left bundle branch block. Tl-201 stress-redistribution SPECT images revealed abnormal pe...
